Marcie's Fund
Kodak FOR MARCIE 004
In memory of our good friend and colleague Marcie Feinglas, Dental Aid is renaming our Uninsured Children's Fund, "Marcie's Fund". Marcie worked so hard to assure that children had access to quality dental care. Each time we utilize the Marcie's Fund, we will remember her love and caring for the children who come to Dental Aid. Each year, Marcie's Fund will provide much needed but often-unaffordable dental care to at least 450 children who do not have public or private insurance. Dental Aid exists to provide accessible and affordable oral health care for low-income and uninsured residents of Boulder and Broomfield counties. Dental Aid was the first not-for-profit comprehensive dental clinic in the United States. Founded as a referral organization in 1974, Dental Aid opened it’s first full-service clinic in Boulder in 1980. Dental Aid has three clinics, located in Boulder, Longmont, and Louisville, and one satellite clinic located in the Boulder Shelter for the Homeless. The Louisville clinic serves primarily children and youth. Dental Aid has the capability of using portable dental equipment to serve residents of long-term care facilities and homebound individuals.

In addition to Dental Aid’s clinical services, Dental Aid provides outreach oral health screenings to low-income children at preschools and elementary schools. Dental Aid’s oral health education program teaches all clinic patients, as well as children at childcare centers, preschools, and elementary schools, about the benefits of brushing, flossing, fluoride, good nutrition, and regular dental visits.

As mandated by our strategic plan, Dental Aid has increased its advocacy efforts at both the local and state level. The purpose of increased advocacy is to provide more community education about oral health problems, and to educate policy makers about the need for access to oral health care. By working in collaboration with other organizations, we can multiply the strength of individual voices.

"Dental Aid has provided top quality care for me and my six children for many years. Without their acceptance of Medicaid and low cost fees, we would do without dental care."

- C.P.

In 2007, Dental Aid subsidized the market equivalent of over $1,000,000 in clinical services in order to provide our patients with affordable oral health care.

Make a Difference!
Every dollar you donate makes a difference:
$3,500 provides all needed dental care under general anesthesia for a child at the Children's Hospital in Denver.

$575 provides a pregnant woman a chance to be orally healthy before giving birth. Mothers who are free of gum disease have fewer low-birth weight babies and fewer premature deliveries.
